2011 Chevrolet Volt – First Gets Free Posted: 18 Jun 2010 02:51 PM PDT The production of 2011 Chevrolet Volt was finally revealed by GM as part of their centennial celebration this week. The 2011 Chevrolet Volt is the first official plug-in hybrid production vehicle from a major auto manufacturer. It is an Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (E-REV) as GM calls it. It can reach a top speed of 100 mph and 40 miles on all-electric based on the EPA city cycle. “Revealing the production version of the Chevy Volt is a great way to open our second century,” said Rick Wagoner, GM Chairman and CEO.
